Coaching
The essence of coaching is a partnership between the coach and the client to support the individual in reaching a deeper understanding of who they are, what they can achieve, and who they can become. We are complex beings, full of power and potential but often unaware of our inherent gifts and our tremendous capacity to make our visions become reality. Through the coaching process, we uncover that power and reveal the client’s inner resources so they can achieve their wildest dreams. Does this seem like a bold proposition? It is, but it is absolutely true. Every individual on the face of this planet is a well-spring of talent unique to them.
Coaching is an art form, empowering the client to tap into that well-spring so that the client can shower their lives and supercharge their ambitions with the natural resources held inside. The essence of coaching isn’t about providing a client with a magical solution, it is about helping them find the magic within themselves. I love watching my client’s energy shift and recognize they are the heroes of their own story.

Recovery Coaching
I bring my wealth of experience and knowledge in recovery and behavioral health into the dynamic coaching process. By combining this expertise with pivot coaching I collaborate with my clients to cultivate a recovered life that is sustainable and unique to them.
Interventions
Our nationwide intervention services are designed to provide compassionate, structured support for families in crisis.
There are few things more heartbreaking and that cause greater feelings of confusion and helplessness than watching a loved one, friend, or colleague in the full throws of their drug, alcohol, or process addiction. From the outside it appears as though our friends, family, and colleagues are racing towards a catastrophic end, wreaking havoc in their lives and ours, and that there is little that we can do to help or alter the outcome that appears obvious to everyone other than the afflicted individual. In many cases those suffering under the yoke of addiction unaware of the power their disease has over them and the impact that it has on others. In other instances, they are keenly aware of the destructive forces at play in their lives and desperate for a path out but are at a loss on how to break the cycle and are craving a change.
An intervention “raises the bottom” for the addict by lovingly and compassionately directing them into recovery. Through a process of drawing boundaries, sharing the impact of their disease on those around them through the testimonials of those closest to them, providing a viable and effective avenue for healing, and overcoming the myriad objections to receiving life-saving treatment, the interventionist collaborates with the intervention participants to interrupt the deadly, downward cycle. Our nationwide intervention services are designed to provide compassionate, structured support for families and friends in crisis.
Interventions, when executed by trained and seasoned professionals, can provide a framework for the addict to not only get the proper diagnosis, recommendations, and treatment best suited to their needs, but also to develop an initial roadmap to wellness and full recovery. This is particularly true when you couple an intervention with ongoing case management and recovery consulting, post treatment.

The Fulcrum Approach
At Fulcrum Coaching and Consulting we work collaboratively with the intervention participants to provide tools to support their loved one or friend, while at the same time identifying the participant’s challenges and introducing them to the help they might need. Our interventionists are trained in family systems and interpersonal relationships and dynamics and understand the critical nature of how those systems play into a successful recovery.
It is critical when intervening on a loved one or colleague to work with trained professionals. Our interventionists construct thoughtful, tailored, long-term plans unique for each intervention. Our interventionists are trained to navigate the roadblocks that inevitably arise during the process, remaining focused on the end goal of getting the client into treatment and on the road to recovery. Working with a professional dramatically increases the likelihood of the afflicted individual engaging in treatment and alleviates well-intentioned efforts from going awry due to lack of experience.
At Fulcrum we use techniques involving incentives and consequences, invitation, collaboration, and consensus building, and a systemic family approach. We also rely on the unique style of our interventionists and the life and professional experience they bring to bear on the process.
Sober Coaching
Sober coaching is a collaboration between the coach and the client to establish goals and outcomes that are unique to that specific client and their life within the realm of recovery. Whether it is someone’s first time in recovery or a reboot, a sober coach is a guide on how to live a sober life and how to strike a healthy balance
While the coach-client relationship mirrors traditional coaching in that creating buy-in and participation is key, a sober coach is trained and certified in the art of sober coaching and/or peer support. Meaning that a sober coach is, by nature, going to share their experience, skill, and insight in navigating the world of recovery. While the ultimate success of each client lies within them, a sober coach will actively share their perspective and recommendations with a client and imbue them with as much knowledge of the recovery world and as many “sober hacks” as possible to make the client’s journey smoother and more successful. While sober coaches are not therapists, they are guides, helping clients move from unhealthy behaviors to a secure, sober life. In this way the coach is also acting as a consultant. The coach will also work with the client to establish reasonable goals and actively work with the client to achieve those goals, in addition to being held accountable for the goals they set.
Finally, with us, the sober coaching experience will almost always include a case management component (described more thoroughly below). Whether the coach is the case manager or a separate individual, the case management component ensures that the coach can provide feedback and insight and receive the same from the stakeholders in the client’s life to maximize accountability and success. The case manager communicates with the client’s medical team, therapeutic team, family members, employers and employees, staff, treatment professionals, and anyone else that is relevant to a particular client to provide transparency and ensure success.

Case Management
The only way to ensure long term sobriety and abstinence from mood alternating substances, and to experience long lasting relief from mental illness, is to implement a flexible and individualized continuum of care for each patient. Remaining plugged into the necessary resources to support recovery over a significant period of time, while modifying and adjusting a treatment plan to meet the ever-evolving needs of the client, is the best way to recover from a hopeless state of mind and body.
At Fulcrum Coaching and Consulting, we are professionally trained and highly skilled at creating an individualized program of accountability for you, your colleague, or your loved one. As case managers we act as the hub in the wheel of recovery, communicating with and gathering information from treatment centers, family and loved ones, colleagues, sponsors, recovery professionals, therapists, physicians, and any other relevant players to create a tailored treatment plan for each client. We communicate with our clients regularly, employing motivational interviewing coaching techniques, as well as shared life experiences. We collaborate with stake holders in the client’s life to create accountability and to inspire the creation of an ever-evolving treatment plan, ensuring successful, long recovery.
LGBTQIA+
At Fulcrum Coaching and Consulting we are uniquely qualified and sensitive to the LGBTQIA+ (“LGBT”) community. We know firsthand the trauma that can come from growing up and living as an LGBTQIA+ community member in a heteronormative world. We know what it is like to create a family of choice in the bars and not know how to separate from them, to be seemingly unable to un-fuse meth and sex, to struggle with the microaggressions from family members and society as a whole on a daily basis, to pronounce to the world that you are comfortable with your orientation and still feel that internalized homophobia gnawing at you deep down, to watch relationship after relationship dissolve, or to face a thousand other traumatic events unique to LGBTQIA+ individuals that leave us shell shocked and questioning our own value at the end of the day; resorting to broken tools to alleviate the pain.
At Fulcrum Coaching and Consulting we will connect you or your loved one the most suitable treatment center available with a curriculum that is sensitive to or designed entirely to meet your needs as an LGBT individual. We will work with the center to find you the best aftercare available, including the physicians and therapists that are educated and comfortable with matters particular to your history. We will construct your treatment plan to be sensitive to those challenges that you or your loved one is facing as a result of your sexual minority status, while at the same time constructing a plan that ensures success, for you and those that love you.

Legal Advocacy & Legal Services
I specialize in legal guidance related to addiction and behavioral health concerns, helping clients navigate the legal system with expert advocacy.
Substance use disorder and mental illness frequently result in legal ramifications. These legal consequences manifest themselves in innumerable ways and in many areas of the law including criminal law, family law, probate and trust matters, and general civil litigation. Struggling with the complications that substance use disorder and mental health issues present, whether your own or the fallout from those of someone close to you, while navigating the legal system can be daunting for attorney and client alike.
There is a careful balance to be struct when faced with the legal fallout from substance use disorder and mental illness. The safety of the family loved ones, and society at large is of paramount importance. However, treating the individual struggling with substance use disorder and mental illness effectively, devoid of stigma and unnecessary penalization for their disease, is part of that safety plan. Providing an impaired individual with an effective roadmap to recovery, including alternative recommendations for incarceration, ways to reunify or reunite with loved ones, and an opportunity to regain their place in society serves the interests of all those involved.
In response to the need to address the legal ramification of substance use disorder and mental illness in a balanced, informed, and effective manner Fulcrum Coaching and Consulting is pleased to offer the following services nationwide (unless otherwise specified)
